Upgrade items
Upgrade items raise a pot that is already placed to a higher tier, without breaking it. There is one for every pair of tiers, so a pot can jump straight from any tier to any higher one. The name and the texture both show the tier it upgrades from (the pot's band) and to (the arrow).
Vanilla to Copper Tier UpgradeUsing an upgrade
Sneak and use the upgrade item on a placed pot whose tier matches the item's from tier. It works on a pot on its own and on a pot sitting on a campfire. One upgrade item is used.
- Better pot to a higher tier: nothing else changes. The pot keeps its colour, facing, lid, and every item inside it.
- Cobblemon pot to a better tier: the pot keeps its colour, facing and lid, but when it is on a campfire the items inside it are dropped on the ground.
TIP
Upgrading a better pot is the safe way to speed up a pot that is mid-cook or wired into automation. Nothing has to be taken out first.
Obtaining
Pick an upgrade to see its recipe. Upgrades are crafted from the upgrade one tier shorter, like the pots themselves, and the ones ending at Netherite are smithing upgrades.
